ZYN nicotine pouches UK: every flavour we stock, by format and strength (2026)

📖 12 min read 17 October 2026
ZYN Cool Mint nicotine pouch can on a desk in daylight, for a ZYN nicotine pouches UK guide

ZYN nicotine pouches in the UK come in two pouch sizes, Mini and Regular, and we stock them at six strengths from 1.5mg to 13.5mg. Every can is £4.19 whatever the strength, though pouch counts vary by line (see below), so check the can if you're comparing cost per pouch. Like Cool Mint? We stock it at five strengths from 1.5mg to 11mg, so you can move up or down without changing flavour.

Quick answer: ZYN is a tobacco-free nicotine pouch from Swedish Match (owned by PMI). Mini covers 1.5–6mg, Regular 9mg and up, and every can we stock is £4.19, up to 13.5mg. See the full ZYN range.

What ZYN is (and what it isn't)

ZYN is a smoke-free, tobacco-free nicotine pouch made by Swedish Match, which is owned by Philip Morris International. PMI's 2024 annual report says it "acquired Swedish Match AB" in November 2022. The UK zyn.com site is run as a PMI smoke-free products site.

ZYN's footnote puts it plainly: "The nicotine in ZYN is derived from tobacco but ZYN does not contain tobacco leaf." That makes it a nicotine pouch, not snus. More on snus and the law below.

You might also see ZYN Melts. They're dissolvable nicotine tablets, not pouches, and we don't stock them (more in the FAQs).

Every ZYN we stock: flavour, format, mg, dots and price

The next section explains the difference between Mini and Regular. Go by the mg printed on the can rather than the strength word, because the labels vary.

Chilli Guava isn't on zyn.com's current UK list, so check the can for its format and dots.

A note on labels: the tier names above follow zyn.com's strengths page. Our product titles use different words: our 11mg "Medium" listings are zyn.com's X-Strong tier, the 3mg "Medium" listings are its Low tier, and the 6mg "Strong" listings are its Medium.

The dot counts shown are the ones zyn.com gives for each strength. Where we couldn't confirm a count on zyn.com (1.5mg, 3mg, 13.5mg and Chilli Guava), we've left it as "see can". For the full dots and mg chart, see our ZYN strengths guide.

ZYN Mini vs ZYN Regular: the two formats

Regular is the format ZYN used to call "Slim". According to zyn.com's Mini vs Regular page, Mini is the smaller, drier pouch and Regular is larger and moister. Regular adds salt, humectants and water to the base ingredients, and our ZYN ingredients rundown goes through them one by one. zyn.com also lists a 16.5mg Regular, which we don't stock, so 13.5mg is the strongest ZYN at SnusBox.

ZYN Mini can with open lid and pouches

ZYN Mini ZYN Regular
Size 13mm × 28mm 14mm × 34mm
Moisture Dry, low moisture Moist
Strengths (zyn.com) 1.5mg, 3mg, 6mg 9mg, 11mg, 13.5mg, 16.5mg
Tingle (ZYN's words) "Low / mild" "Lively"

6mg is the strongest Mini, and we stock it in Cool Mint, Coffee and Spearmint. If you already use pouches and 3mg feels light, it's the sensible next step, because you keep the smaller, drier pouch.

ZYN flavours by family: which to pick

The flavour notes below are quoted from zyn.com's UK shop listing. Where a flavour isn't listed there, we say so.

Mint. zyn.com describes Cool Mint as "cool fresh peppermint and menthol". The 1.5mg is described slightly differently, as "menthol with hints of peppermint". Spearmint is a "smooth and authentic blend of refreshing spearmint". Apple Mint sits between fruit and mint, described as "green apples and peppermint, with hints of spearmint".

Fruit. zyn.com describes Black Cherry (Mini) as "cherries with hints of forest berries and vanilla", and the 11mg listing swaps forest berries for wild berries. Citrus is "citrus fruits, aromatic orange and hints of lemongrass". Red Fruits, which we stock at 9mg only, is "strawberry and menthol, with hints of rhubarb and raspberry".

Featured Product

Coffee. The two strengths read differently. The 6mg is listed as "mocha, chocolate and nougat", and the 11mg as "freshly roasted coffee with hints of cocoa and caramel".

Spicy fruit. Guava Spice is "a fruity taste of guava and chili". Chilli Guava isn't on zyn.com's current UK list, so all we can go on is our product listing name. We won't claim it's the same as Guava Spice.

Cold and intense (13.5mg only). Menthol Ice is "an intense cooling taste of eucalyptus and menthol". Blackcurrant Frost is "menthol topped by dark berries and fruit". It was previously sold as ZYN Icy Blackcurrant.

If you asked us across the counter, these would be our picks (our opinions, not sales figures):

  • Cool Mint if you want room to move: five strengths from 1.5mg to 11mg, same flavour.
  • Black Cherry if you want fruit with a vanilla finish, though we only stock it at 1.5mg or 11mg, so it suits the two ends of the range.
  • Coffee if sweet fruit isn't your thing: the 11mg leans roasted coffee and caramel, the 6mg more mocha and nougat.

Same flavour, different strength: the ZYN ladder

If you've found a flavour you like, this shows where you can move up or down without changing it, and where the gaps are.

ZYN XX Strong Blackcurrant Frost 13.5mg can

  • Cool Mint: 1.5mg → 3mg Mini → 6mg Mini → 9mg Regular → 11mg Regular. There's no Cool Mint at 13.5mg. Menthol Ice is the next step for mint and menthol, but it tastes different because of the eucalyptus.
  • Spearmint: 3mg → 6mg → 11mg. There's no 9mg, so going from 6mg to 11mg is a big jump.
  • Black Cherry: 1.5mg → 11mg only. That's a huge gap, so don't go straight from one to the other.
  • Citrus: 3mg → 11mg.
  • Coffee: 6mg → 11mg.
  • Red Fruits: 9mg only.

Moving from 6mg Mini to 9mg Regular also changes the pouch, which becomes bigger and moister. Step up gradually. If a strength feels like too much, go back down.

Picking a ZYN strength based on what you use now

This section is for people who already use nicotine. It isn't a reason to start.

  • 1.5mg and 3mg: for people used to low-strength pouches who want to keep things light.
  • 6mg Mini: for people used to around 6mg who prefer a small, dry pouch.
  • 9–11mg Regular: the main part of the range, for people already comfortable with mid-strength pouches.

13.5mg XX-Strong comes in Blackcurrant Frost and Menthol Ice, and it's only for people already used to strong pouches. If you're on 11mg and want more, 13.5mg is the next step. Don't skip straight to it from 9mg or below.

There's no reliable way to convert vape or cigarette strength into pouch mg, so judge by the pouches you already use. Our ZYN strengths chart has the full breakdown. Higher strengths are also more likely to cause the side effects covered further down.

Using ZYN, pouch counts and what a can costs

zyn.com's instructions say to "place a ZYN pouch under your lip. You may experience a tingling sensation". It says to use the pouch "for around 30 minutes", and used pouches go in the compartment in the lid. ZYN's guidance is one pouch at a time, so don't double up. Our guide to using ZYN covers placement and timing in more detail.

Pouch counts are messy. zyn.com's own pages give 20 for Regular cans in some places and 21 in others, and its shop listing shows 10 per can for the 1.5mg X-Low Minis. Rather than repeat a figure that might be wrong, we'd say check the count printed on your can.

Price is simple: every ZYN we stock is £4.19 a can, whatever the strength. The multi-buy discount is 10% off when you buy 10 or more cans, 15% off at 20 or more, and 20% off at 30 or more, applied automatically in the basket. For the cost per pouch, see how much ZYN costs in the UK. Comparing UK sellers? See where to buy ZYN in the UK.

Nicotine and side effects

Nicotine is addictive. ZYN says so too: its products are "not risk free and provide nicotine, which is addictive."

Common side effects include hiccups, gum irritation where the pouch sits, and nausea at higher strengths. Our nicotine pouch side effects guide goes through them in more detail.

ZYN, snus and UK law (as of October 2026)

ZYN is a tobacco-free nicotine pouch, not snus. Selling traditional tobacco snus is illegal in the UK under the Tobacco for Oral Use (Safety) Regulations 1992. The Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026 re-enacts that ban from 29 October 2026 (s.8). SnusBox sells tobacco-free nicotine pouches, not tobacco snus. We cover the history in is snus legal in the UK.

As of October 2026, the Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026 is law. It received Royal Assent on 29 April 2026. From 29 October 2026, it is an offence to sell a vaping or nicotine product, including nicotine pouches, to anyone under 18 in England and Wales (s.10).

Scotland and Northern Ireland bring these rules in under separate parts of the Act, with their own start dates. SnusBox customers confirm they are 18+ on the site.

FAQs

Who makes ZYN?

Swedish Match, which is part of Philip Morris International, according to zyn.com and PMI. ZYN is a tobacco-free nicotine pouch brand.

Is ZYN snus, and do Tesco sell snus?

No. Selling traditional tobacco snus is illegal in the UK under the Tobacco for Oral Use (Safety) Regulations 1992, and that's still the case as of October 2026, so no UK shop, Tesco included, can legally sell it. ZYN's nicotine is derived from tobacco but it contains no tobacco leaf, so it's a nicotine pouch, not snus.

Is it illegal to buy nicotine pouches in the UK?

The new rule is aimed at sellers. As of October 2026, the law says that from 29 October 2026 it is an offence to sell nicotine pouches to anyone under 18 in England and Wales (Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026, s.10). SnusBox customers confirm they're 18+.

What strengths does ZYN come in in the UK?

Mini comes in 1.5mg, 3mg and 6mg, and Regular comes in 9mg, 11mg and 13.5mg. zyn.com also lists a 16.5mg Regular, which we don't stock. Every strength is £4.19 a can at SnusBox.

What's the difference between ZYN Mini and Regular?

According to zyn.com, Mini is the smaller, drier pouch (13mm × 28mm) and comes in 1.5mg, 3mg and 6mg. Regular, formerly called Slim, is larger and moister (14mm × 34mm) and starts at 9mg.

What is the strongest ZYN in the UK?

zyn.com lists a 16.5mg Regular. The strongest we stock is 13.5mg XX-Strong, in Blackcurrant Frost and Menthol Ice, and it's only for people already used to strong pouches.

What do the dots on a ZYN can mean?

They show the strength tier. For example, zyn.com shows the 11mg Regular with 4 dots, and stronger tiers carry more. Go by the mg printed on the can, which is clearer than counting dots.

How many pouches are in a can of ZYN?

It varies by line. zyn.com's own pages show 20 or 21 for Regular cans, and its shop listing shows 10 for the 1.5mg X-Low Minis. Check the count printed on your can.

How much does ZYN cost in the UK?

Every ZYN at SnusBox is £4.19 a can, whatever the strength. The multi-buy discount is 10% off when you buy 10 or more cans, 15% off at 20 or more, and 20% off at 30 or more, applied automatically in the basket.

Is ZYN safer than vaping, or good for you?

We don't make health or safety comparisons, and none of our sources supports one. Nicotine is addictive, and our nicotine pouch side effects guide covers what to expect.

How many ZYNs equal a vape?

There's no reliable conversion, because the mg on a can doesn't map onto e-liquid strength or cigarettes. Choose a strength based on the pouches you already use, and change it gradually.

Can dentists tell if you use ZYN?

Gum irritation where the pouch sits is a known side effect, so it makes sense to be upfront with your dentist. We don't make claims either way.

How often can you use ZYN pouches?

Follow the guidance on the can. zyn.com says to use one pouch at a time, for around 30 minutes. Don't combine pouches, and because nicotine is addictive, keep an eye on how much you use.

What are ZYN Melts?

According to zyn.com, ZYN Melts are dissolvable nicotine tablets (1mg and 2mg) that sit between your upper lip and gum. They're not a pouch, and SnusBox doesn't stock them.

ZYN vs Velo: what's the difference?

In our range, ZYN runs from 1.5mg to 13.5mg at £4.19 a can, while the Velo we stock comes in 8mg and 10mg at £4.99. For Velo's formats and dots, see our Velo nicotine pouches guide.

For adult nicotine users only (18+). Contains nicotine, which is an addictive substance.
